Why we got vegan certified

Eroticgel powders sit on someone's skin for an hour or more at a time. That's not quite skincare territory, but it's not far off. So when we say our powders are plant-based, we wanted someone outside the business to actually test that.

Self-certification means nothing if a customer can't verify it. We put our Nuru Massage Powders through certification with VegeProject Japan because their audit covers what we couldn't credibly prove on our own. They audit every supplier and every ingredient that goes into the formula, plus the manufacturing line itself. If a powder carries their badge, the brand has had to back up the claim with documentation, samples, and ongoing scrutiny.

What VegeProject Japan does

VegeProject Japan is a Tokyo-based non-profit working to expand plant-based options across a country where most traditional cuisine is built around fish or meat. They certify food, cosmetics, and personal care products against a vegan standard that goes beyond "no obvious animal ingredients."

Their auditors trace the source of every component, including additives, processing aids, and trace ingredients you'd never find on a label. They check the manufacturing line itself: sharing equipment with non-vegan products is only allowed with documented cleaning protocols between runs. They check the supply chain back to the farm or factory of origin. Then they re-verify the certification every year. It's not a one-time stamp.

Which Eroticgel products are certified

The certification covers all our Nuru Massage Powders: Matsuri, Sakura, Sumire, and Platinum editions. Each formulation has been independently tested and approved by VegeProject Japan, and every batch we manufacture has to meet the same standard.

The VegeProject logo appears on the packaging when the product reaches you, and the same product code is registered in their public certification database. If you'd rather verify it yourself, search any of our certified powders directly at vegeproject.org. We don't expect customers to take our word for it. We want them to look us up.
