What is nuru massage gel?
Nuru is a Japanese-style body-to-body massage using an extremely slippery water-based gel. Our ready-to-use liquid version is pre-mixed and bottled, ideal if you'd prefer to skip the powder-and-water mixing step and have the gel ready to pour.
Is the gel made in Japan?
The formula is Japanese-inspired and designed to deliver an authentic nuru experience, but the gel itself is manufactured in Thailand by our partner Touch One. The ingredients and performance match the traditional Japanese nuru feel.
What are the ingredients?

Is sodium polyacrylate safe? I've heard it's not natural.

It's non-toxic, non-irritating, and the ingredient responsible for that signature thick, slippery nuru feel. We've explored natural alternatives extensively, but nothing delivers the authentic experience our customers expect. How do I use it?
Pour the amount you need into a bowl or straight onto wet skin. Warm the bottle in a bowl of warm water first if you'd like the gel warm on application. No mixing, no preparation time. For a full-body nuru session, most couples use 200 to 500ml.
Does the bottle come with a pump, or do I need to buy one separately?
Every size from 250ml to 1000ml ships with both a screw-top lid and a dedicated pump dispenser in the same bundle. Use whichever suits the moment. The 5000ml bulk container is screw top only, since it's too large for a pump to work well.
What's the difference between the two 1000ml bottle shapes?
Purely visual. The tall round bottle is a classic cylindrical shape. The square-shouldered bottle has defined shoulders and sits differently on a shelf. Both hold the same 1000ml of gel, both come with screw top and pump dispenser included, both are the same price. Pick whichever you prefer the look of.

What's the shelf life of the bottled gel?
