I first mixed up the recommended 5g of powder with 500ml of warm water. The powder mixed and dissolved well, no issues with clumping and at roughly 10 minutes the gel has formed as advertised. I had no intentions on doing an Nuru massage when testing, but if you were going to, it definitely made enough. The gel is a good consistency and certainly is slippery on the skin. It massages well and when drying doesn't leave any residue. I also had no issues with staining on the towels. I like that it is odourless. Overall a very good product and at the time of review, the reduced price is good value.

This is not moisturising like a massage oil, in fact quite the reverse – don't leave it on your skin.
Despite the natural ingredients shown and listed in some variations, this is almost entirely made from sodium polyacrylate. I had to look this up. Apparently it's 'technically not a plastic' but is in fact a superabsorbant polymer. Not being a chemist I really don't know the difference, but it's plastic-like synthetic stuff. This is not a natural gel and is not predominantly made from natural ingredients.

So with that in mind, this is a decent product. It does not take a lot of powder to make a lot of gel. This will do you something like 50l. That is a huge amount and really throws the cost into perspective. Depending on how much you need, it will last you for an astonishing number of uses, making each use very cost effective.

This is the first time I have tried a massage gel powder. All the ingredients are natural and pure. Having read the instructions and getting a large jug from the kitchen, I was dubious whether a tiny teaspoon of powder would form anything in half a litre of warm water.

After stirring for a while and letting the mixture cool the consistency was a thin runny gel. Considering ingredients such as liquorice and seaweed I was expecting some sort of fragrance but there was none at all.

Popping my hand in and scooping out of the jug, this was enough to cover both arms, neck and shoulders. The gel dried very quickly without any sticky residue at all. Next day the remainder of the jug was still quite runny, however the teaspoon with some residue seemed to have stuck like glue to the saucer I left it in overnight.

The jury is out on whether I prepared this correctly but given how far it goes there will be plenty more opportunities to test in the future.
