Does Matsuri have any scent?
No. Matsuri is fragrance-free. No added fragrance, essential oils, or dyes.
What is the difference between Matsuri and Platinum?
Platinum is a pure, neutral formula with no added botanicals. Matsuri is enriched with Carrageenan (seaweed) and Camellia sinensis leaf (green tea), well-known ingredients in Japanese skincare for refreshing and softening the skin. Same slippery texture, different ingredient profile.
How do I mix the powder?
Add 8.45 fl oz to 16.09 fl oz (250ml-500ml) of warm water (40°C/104°F) to a bowl. It is best to start with 250ml and then adjust consistency. Evenly sprinkle around one tsp (5g) of powder to every 16.09 fl oz (500ml) of warm water. Wait around five minutes for the mixture to completely form into massage gel. Apply to wet skin.
Is sodium polyacrylate safe? I've heard it's not natural.
Sodium polyacrylate sounds like a chemistry lab experiment, but it's actually approved as a food additive in Japan, one of the world's most rigorous food safety markets. It's non-toxic, non-irritating, and the ingredient responsible for that signature thick, slippery nuru feel. We've explored natural alternatives extensively, but nothing delivers the authentic experience our customers expect. We'd rather give you something that works safely and effectively than something that just sounds good on a label.
Can I store leftover mixed gel?
No. Our powders contain no preservatives, so mixed gel should be used for that session only and any remainder disposed of. The advantage of the powder format is that you mix fresh every time. For sessions where you only need 500ml, scoop out about 1 teaspoon (roughly 5g) of powder and mix fresh, rather than mixing the whole sachet at once.
Is the 100g or 200g container reusable?
Yes. The premium container with natural bamboo lid is designed to be kept and reused once empty. It gives a genuine gift feel and works nicely on a bedside table or bathroom shelf.
Will it stain my sheets?
The very light tint in the gel rinses off skin and washes out of fabric in a standard wash. For best protection, always use over a waterproof sheet or drop cloth.
Can I use it in a professional massage room?
Yes. The 500g bulk pouch is priced for regular commercial use and makes up to 50 litres of gel. Many massage and spa settings use Matsuri as their house gel.
Is Matsuri vegan?

Which size is best for regular couple use?

Works good at a good value to. BUT don't follow the instructions because you'll use to much. Instead of a mixing bowl I used an empty 8oz hand sanitizer bottle, filled it with semi hot water & half a table spoon or maybe even less of the powder, shook it up for about five minutes off & on, then let it sit another ten minutes & it came out great. Trust me a little bit goes a very long way with this stuff & it spreads nice & smooth on your partner to

80g made EIGHT litres and it was slippery AF. 6 litres would have been enough for the 3x2m inflatable pool we used for 3 of us. It washed off the pool easily (coconut oil would have been single use for the pool), off our hair, and neither lady complained about irritations. So literally perfect for the job, and we've already scheduled the next evening of fun.

Dotychczas stosowałam proporcje 2 g żelu na 300 ml wody, co zapewniało doskonałą konsystencję i idealny poślizg na pełną, godzinną sesję masażu. W przypadku ostatnio otrzymanej partii, nawet przy użyciu 6 g produktu (trzykrotne zwiększenie dawki!), roztwór pozostaje skrajnie wodnisty i błyskawicznie traci swoje właściwości. Masaż staje się niemożliwy do kontynuowania po kilkunastu minutach.

Great product! My partner loved it. The feeling is just incredible and no one should go through this life without having had this Nuru massage experience. You just mix the powder with warm water and within a few minutes it turns into a smooth, slippery gel that’s perfect for massage. The gel is very slick and long-lasting without feeling greasy or sticky. One teaspoon is enough to make 500 ml of the gel which is perfectly good amount of gel for one session of the Nuru massage. So one sachet will last for a few sessions. Right after the preparation the gel is quite warm and I liked it! It’s so nice to feel this warm gel on my skin. Later, when it cooled dawn, I just slightly microwaved it to the desired temperature and it was perfect.

It works okay as a gel, but you should know it contains a synthetic chemical sodium polyacrylate which mimics the function of nuru seaweed powder. The entire product page says the formula is natural and never mentions the sodium polyacrylate ingredient.

So this product is simply amazing and such a tiny amount goes a long way 8 oz of warm water with tiny amount of tablespoon and I mean tiny less than 1/4 of tablespoon will go a long way. And then mix and stir as the substance becomes jelly like then you know it’s ready and I mean prepare yourself for an extremely great experience you will not forget. Super item and super good!

I've tried many powders and premixes, this is _awesome_.Like others have said, if it's clumping, you're using too much.Using the typical bowl, I put in about 1/4 teaspoon of powder, then fill the bowl with HOT (135*) qatwey about 3/4 full. Swish, let sit 30 seconds, Swish, let sit two minutes.Test - if it's too tjiny, add A SMIDGE more powder, add more water if it's thick (eventually lumping).The water/powder balance can be tricky, but too much powder is more forgiving. It's easier to thin than to thicken.A LITTLE goes a LONG way. The big jar here is probably 2-3 weeks worth at a salon.Recommended!

The only complaint is that unlike Mr.Nori 500ml bottle, the liquid turns out to be a bit yellowy but other than thatbit is exactly the same and even better because it is travel friendly.

This is extremely "nuru" - very slippery! Superb feel- very smooth, and not sticky.
Specific notes:
1. Follow the directions for mixing! Sprinkle the dry powder over warm water to prepare. It helps to have a wide low bowl, so that there is plenty of surface to sprinkle the power. Do not just dump in all at once as a clump.
2. Plan ahead! It takes a bit of time for the powder to form the gel in water. Not much- a few minutes, but it is the sort of thing that you'll want to build into your plans for a romantic evening. Also, when you eventually stand up, you are going to be covered in the gel, and it will run down. Have towels ready to stand on! It washes easily out of fabric and off of people, but I imagine it would be a pain to get out of carpet.
3. It feels best if kept warm. Set your bowl of gel into a larger bowl of hot water so that it can help keep the gel warm for as long as you need.
4. If you are feeling dry during your session, drip some of that warm water on it, and it is instantly slippery again.
I did want to address what another reviewer wrote about the color. When first mixed, the product is completely colorless. It is a clear gel, just as shown in product photos. However once mixed, the product will discolor over time. It does not have preservatives, and so there is nothing to keep the natural ingredients from changing. So, the photo of the brown gel from the other reviewer is accurate, but it is my guess that it shows a sample that had been mixed for 1-2 weeks already.

The texture is very pleasant and I love that it's a natural product. If it starts to get sticky just add a little water. You can dilute more than the instructions say. Let it sit a little longer and it thicken up. It'll keep for a while so you can mix well in advance. This tiny thing will make more than a gallon.

I use it to massage my wife, a long last lubricant and most importantly for shaving. I shave my head bald daily I have very sensitive skin.All other shaving products give me razor bumps and I have to shave down sideways and then against the grain to avoid it. With Nuru if I'm in a hurry I can go straight to against the grain and still no bumps develop. Plus my skin is so well nourished, radiant and it give the skin a great shine with out it being oily or too dry.One purchase lasts me a out 4 to 5 months and I use it daily. Highly suggest it at the risk of selling this product out when I need it because it's hard to find.

Mixed with room temp water and it turned yellowish brown. Every other powder I’ve used is very clear. I wonder if it goes bad after sitting on their shelves for too long? Either way it’s gross and I will not be using it on my skin.
